Dr. Herlihy is a physician and surgeon at Seattle Children's Hospital. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, she completed her internship in transitional medicine at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center. Dr. Herlihy is a member of various local and national organizations and is board certified in ophthalmology.
Dr. Herlihy is an active clinician, surgeon, teacher, and researcher. She sees and operates on children with a spectrum of ocular disorders. She is the director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Fellowship Program at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital and is also very involved in resident and medical student education. She is a principal investigator in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, which is supported by the National Institutes of Health. She also participates in research involving pediatric and adult strabismus and various other pediatric ophthalmologic disorders. Dr. Herlihy is a peer reviewer for several internationally regarded ophthalmology journals and is a member of numerous professional organizations. Dr. Herlihy lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband, kids, and dog. Her pastimes include running, skiing, baking, hiking and traveling.
